Opal basil leaves are medium sized, deep purple with a purple stem and pink flowers. Bees love them! The spectacular leaves have the same sweet delicious basil smell and taste, perfect as a colourful garnish, add to salads or flavour your salad dressings. Opal basil tends to have green varigation when grown in shade. This basil variety can be grown year round in South-East Queensland.
