Sugar Snap Peas
The snap pea, also known as the sugar snap pea, is an edible-pod pea with rounded pods and thick pod walls, in contrast to snow pea pods, which are flat with thin walls. Delicious added to salads, quiches and frittatas, savory rice or simply blanch and have with butter salt and pepper, yum!
Growing Info
Peas grow well in the cooler months. Choose a sunny spot with well drained soil. They like a weekly feed with liquid fertilizer and use mulch around the base of the plants to keep moist. Cimbing peas will need a supporting trellis to grow and allow air flow around the plant. Harvest can begin about 10-16 weeks after planting. Harvest regularly to encourage more peas to grow.
